SOVIET
Soviet is the electronic music project of Keith Ruggiero, blending analog synths, emotional songwriting, and cinematic atmosphere into a sound that’s both nostalgic and forward-looking.
Formed in the early 2000s, Soviet emerged during the rise of electroclash, earning a loyal following with its signature mix of melodic synth-pop and vintage production. Tracks like “Candy Girl” became underground favorites, resonating with fans of classic new wave and modern electronic alike. With sonic nods to OMD, Vangelis, and China Crisis, Soviet crafts music that feels personal and expansive—equal parts danceable and reflective.
Keith Ruggiero’s background as a composer and sound designer informs every track. After touring and performing alongside artists like Fischerspooner, Adult., and Stereo Total, he transitioned into a decade-long career in audio post-production, scoring, and immersive sound design. That experience now feeds directly back into Soviet, giving the music added depth, texture, and cinematic reach.
Whether you're rediscovering Soviet or hearing it for the first time, this is music built to connect—layered, human, and always evolving.
